LAND PLOUGHING
The first step in Agriculture is to prepare the land for the cultivation of the crops. This process is carried out with the help of a land plough. Ploughing is essential because:
- It lossen the soil so that seed beds can be prepared
- It turns over the soil and mix it to keep nutrient balance in the soil
- It develpos soil texture
- It improves soil porisity
- It improves soil aeriation
- It improves water holding capacity of soil
In ancient times and even if we poke into our recent history before the mechanization of Agriculture traditional wooden ploughs were used that were operated by Animals (horses, Cattle, Bulls) but now this process is carried out with the help of Machines (Tractors) and Speciallized ploughing tools attached to them.
The conventional methods were labourious and time consuming. After the entry of machines in Agriculture it has improved manyfolds.
